Well what are you looking for? Scenic places? Places that are good to stay at? What would you like to see?

stay the fuck away from wyoming.
montana (where i'm at) is a pretty beautiful state, big skies, mountains for miles, snow, hardly any people but you might run into a few assholes.
if you do decide to wonder into the state with no one in it, stay away from billings. bozeman and missoula are pretty rad though, i've been to both. butte is ok, it's sketchy as fuck but it ain't bad once you get used to it.
other places that come to mind:
yellowstone park (before it explodes)
vegas (if you like gambling, booze, getting fucked up/having fun, neon lights)
if you're in cali stop by laguna beach and del mar. it's fucking amazing there.

If you decide youre going to be going to California, then message me. Ive been damn nearly everywhere in this state except for the north eastern part bordering the Sierra Nevadas.
Honestly the US is big enough so that most people can find something theyre interested in. Also if you dont like deserts then stay out of the South West. You also have to know that certain regions state or even cities are sub-cultures within themselves. I also know youre a Britbong, so I suggest staying out of the South, especially Florida.
No really though, ask me about California. Aside from a good deal of the people who live here its a really cool state. Just be warned. No matter how close you think you are to the coast, it can and will get fucking hot the more inland you go. Im serious. You can see the beach 15 miles away (24 km you europoor) and it will feel(and technically you are) like you are in the desert. Norcal is recovering from the drought so you should see some lakes hopefully.

Fucking shitty time to come to America, though don't come to Texas. Very hot.
